1. The Outstanding Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science

This is a new museum that is spread over an impressive 250,000-square-foot of space and is an upgrade from its earlier Coconut Grove location.

The museum is home to year-round exhibits such as “River of Grass”, “Feathers to the Stars” and “MeLab”.

The “Aquarium” is a stunning display spread across three levels; and one of these includes the Gulf Stream aquarium (500,000-gallon) which houses all types of sea creatures.

2.  Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

The Vizcaya Museum & Gardens are no less than a truly surreal sight.

The impressive structure is built in Italian Renaissance-style architecture and is located in Coconut Grove.

This place was built in the early 20th century and the interiors house decorative works and antiques ranging from the 16th-19th centuries. It’s one of the most popular venues for quinciañera portraits and weddings.

3. Calle Ocho in Little Havana

This Miramar and Vedado neighborhoods are quaint and vibrant and give you a true taste of Cuba.

In 1959, after Fidel Castro came to power, thousands of Cubans relocated to Miami and their legacy is very strong on Calle Ocho (SW 8th St), despite the fact that many moved to other parts of the city.

Here, you will find classic, Mediterranean–style houses and cigar stores as well as the constant hum of Latin music emanating from record shops.

4. Don’t miss the craft beers in Wynwood

Give the standard Miami martini a miss and reach for a pint at any one of Wynwood’s biergartens and craft breweries. Here you will find a massive selection of beers and you can feast on homemade sausages and other treats.

Ranging from porters to IPAa and homegrown ales-Wynnewood has it all; and don’t forget to visit Wynwood Brewing Company, the first craft brewery in the place.

5. Azucar Ice Cream Company

This ice cream place is no less than an ice cream lover’s dream.

Started by Suzy Batlle, Azucar Ice Cream Company has the best flavor combinations and Suzy churns these into the most delectable handmade ice creams. Some of the most popular flavors are guava and cream cheese, Abuela Maria, Maria crackers.

Batlle concocts new flavors from various local ingredients and keeps adding to the existing spread.

6. Go Shopping on Lincoln Road

Lincoln Road Mall was designed way back in the1950s by Morris Lapidus the renowned architectural guru. At one point of time, this famous mall was referred to as the “Fifth Avenue of the South,”.

However, today everyone calls it Lincoln.

Here you will find rows after rows of cultural venues and lounges. You can visit any one of the lounges that are scattered from Alton Road to Washington Avenue and check out the cultural scene at the Colony Theatre.

7. Visit Key Biscayne

Key Biscayne is also popularly known as just “The Key”. While the place doesn’t have much to offer in terms of shopping or nightlife, it is a mecca for anyone that wants some peace and tranquility.

The beaches here are pristine and the island in the northernmost end has two waterfront parks, stunning views of Miami and offers a cycling path as well.

At the east end of Key Biscayne is Crandon Park that has vast picnic and barbecue areas, which makes it a perfect place for family trips.

This list is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to amazing things to do in Miami and some of the other places that are a must visit are the Deering Estate, The Versailles restaurant, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Wynwood Walls, the world famous Miami Seaquarium and the Kampong botanical garden to mention just a few.
